Yields little changed

The European major stock indices are ending the day mixed:

  • Germany's DAX index is up 0.3%
  • France's CAC index is up 0.1%
  • UK's FTSE is up 0.1%
  • Spain's Ibex is down -0.8%
  • Italy's FTSE MIB is down -0.14%
  • Portugal's PSI 20 is down -1.46%

For the week, the major indices are showing gains:

  • Germany's DAX up 2.6%
  • France's CAC up 0.4%
  • UK's FTSE up 0.7%
  • Spain's Ibex up 1.5%
  • Italy's FTSE MIB up 1.5%
  • Portugal's PSI 20 ended down -0.7%

In the 10 year debt market today:

  • Germany 0.364, down -1 basis point
  • France 0.753%, Down -0.6 basis points
  • UK 1.267%, Of 0.5 basis points
  • Spain 1.474%, -1 basis point
  • Italy 1.79%, -0.7 basis points
  • Portugal 2.067%, -3 basis points
  • Greece 5.139%, +5.6 basis points

In other markets as London/European traders look to exit:

  • Spot gold is down about eight dollars at $1268
  • WTI crude oil is up $.45 at $55
  • US treasury yields are seeing a flattening again. 2-year yield 1.6245%, +1.6 basis points, 5-year yield 2.006%,, +0.6 basis points. 110 year yield 2.343%, unchanged. 30-year yield 2.82%, -0.5 basis points
  • US stocks are higher: S&P index up 0.21%. NASDAQ up 0.45%. Dow up 0.15%

Finally the Canadian dollar is the strongest currency while the Australian dollar is the weakest. The US dollar is mixed with games against the EUR, JPY, CHF, AUD and NZD and down against the GBP, and CAD.
