Altmaier to fly to US on Sunday
German trade minister Altmaier is planning to fly to the US on Sunday in a bid to prevent tariffs on steel and aluminum that are set to take effect next Friday.
It's going to be a mad scramble from a number of officials in many countries to try and get waivers. I wouldn't be surprised to see the deadline extended.
Separately, the EU commission has published a list of US goods that could be subject to tariff retaliation and has asked for industry views.
