Jose is right behind Irma
Irma continues to bear down on the northern coast of Hispaniola as it heads towards the Turks and Caicos.
What's terrifying is that Jose is strengthening right along the same path as Irma was a week ago. It's now a Category 2 storm, according to the NHC.
"Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Jose is expected to become a major hurricane on Friday," the latest NHC forecast says.
The main forecast track takes it on a more-northerly route than Irma so it's the eastern seaboard of the US that's the more-likely target.
