Turmoil in Iraq and Kurdistan today
Reuters reported that Iraqi elite forces took control of government buildings in central Kirkuk without an violence.
Baghdad said it was informed of oil shutdowns at the Bai Hassan and Avana oilfields but Kurdish officials have said they won't stop any oil flows from export pipelines.
Earlier today, Iraqi forces seized oil fiends and a refinery. The Associated Press said sporadic gunfire was heard.
