Poor figures, and poor revisions as well on the Italian side of things. But the data point is a lagging one, so it doesn't offer much. We had Eurozone retail sales figures last week already.
According to Istat, starting from this reading onwards they will be calculating the statistic with reference to the base year 2015 and also a new index measuring online sales is to be released as well.
Provisional data shows that online sales increased by 2.4% y/y while both small scale and large scale distribution fell by 1.2%.
EUR/USD at 1.2376 now, steadying a little. EUR/GBP at 0.8867, still ranging. EUR/JPY at 131.89 near the lows for the day.
