The Japanese foreign ministry releases read-out of phone conversation between Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe and Australian prime minister Malcolm Turnbull

Says that the two discussed and exchanged opinions on trade, including Trump's plans to implement tariffs on steel and aluminium imports.

The read-out also says that the two have agreed to continue talking on trade issues in the future.

Not sure how much details were discussed, but diplomatic talks like these usually just brushes over the topics mainly. Anyway, the two nations have also voiced out their dissatisfaction on the matter with the WTO in a recent meeting.
