Japan's Party of Hope is the new party led by Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike
I posted earlier with headlines on the party platform:
- Japan election - Koike says should freeze planned sales tax hike
- More from the Hope Party (Japan election): Will cut spending on public works
- More again from Hope's Koike: Will maintain bold monetary easing
Reuters have gathered together a bit of a recap here: Tokyo governor's new party vows to scrap over-reliance on fiscal, monetary steps
The main salient points:
- cut reliance on fiscal spending and monetary easing
- freeze scheduled sales tax hike in 2019
- end nuclear power by 2030
- "While maintaining the Bank of Japan's massive monetary easing for the time being, the government and the BOJ should work together to seek a smooth exit strategy"
Their eco approach is dubbed "Yurinomics", which is derived from Koike's first name. I suppose that's better than "Kookynomics"
