Nope, that's no typo - it is a twenty five thousand and four percent return

There are hedge funds with a couple hundred percent returns, then there is Pantera Bitcoin Fund.

The NY Times reports that the fund was set up in 2013 and for the life of the fund, generated a 25,004% return as of a week ago. It is a fund dedicated to virtual currencies and their thought process is simple: Buy Bitcoins and hold them as the price goes up.

Pantera estimates that in dollar terms, the fund has made about $2.1 billion for its investors. It is reported that the investors have taken out Bitcoins worth around $1.7 billion to hold for themselves, leaving Pantera holding coins worth about $400 million.

To put things into perspective, here's a number for you. According to Preqin, a hedge fund tracker, their database had the top performing hedge fund last year with a return of 148%. "Amazing", really.
