The US dollar struggled badly last week

The fallout from soft retail sales and CPI data earlier in the month continued to reverberate last week and weighed on the US dollar. That was compounded by the turmoil in Washington and led to a rough week.

However it was even worse for the pound as UK data softened and Brexit continued to weigh. The next move from the Bank of England will be a major market mover.

On the top of the pile were the Swiss franc and euro (despite Draghi's best efforts).
