Only the S&P and Dow close at record levels today. Dow trades above 23K for 1st time ever

Nasdaq nearly unchanged but a little lower on the day

The S&P and Dow closed at record highs again today, but the Nasdaq fell short by the slightest of margins.

• The S&P closed up 1.72 points or 0.07%
• The Dow did the best rising by 40.48 points or 0.18% to 22997.44. The benchmark index of the 30 large cap stocks, traded above 23K for the first time ever (high reached 23002) but that milestone could not be sustained and we are closing just below the level
• The Nasdaq missed out on closing at record levels by 0.349 of a point (down -0.01% on the day).

Buyers are still in control in the US stock market.
