US Whitehouse statement quoting Trump on latest missile launch by NK 29 Aug
- NK has signalled its contempt for its neighbours, for all members of the UN and for minimum standards of standards of acceptable international behaviour
- "The world has received North Korea's latest message loud and clear. Threatening and destabilizing actions only increase the North Korean regime's isolation in the region and among all nations of the world. All options are on the table"
Trump and Abe have had a phone convo:
- have agreed that NK poses a grave and growing direct threat to the US, Japan and the republic of Korea as well as to countries around the world
- Trump and Abe are committed to increasing pressure on NK and doing their utmost to convince the international community to do the same
Meanwhile markets not so fazed by the comments.
USDJPY back above 108.50 having survived an earlier test of support/demand around 108.25-30. EURUSD 1.2043 still underpinned as is GBPUSD at 1.2954 and AUDUSD at 0.7975
USDCHF has bounced off that 0.9430 area I talked about earlier and EURCHF now up to 1.1382 from 1.1360.
