Trump rails against WTO

Trump says the World Trade Organization is a "catastrophe" and makes it almost impossible for the US to do good business.

He specifically cited Canada and Mexico, where he said "the US loses a lot of money."

Trump is finding out that his NAFTA partners aren't particularly concerned about the US leaving NAFTA because they will fall back on WTO rules that limit tariffs to 5%.

What Trump is really saying here is that he's been unable to wring a great NAFTA deal out of Canada and Mexico because he doesn't have the leverage.

But leaving the WTO would be a complete disaster for global growth and US growth. But if Trump starts to talk about it more, it could truly rattle markets.
