UK's Liam Fox speaking to the BBC just now 16 July

  • there are contingency plans across UK govt departments for no Brexit deal being reached
  • EU negotiators need to believe we would walk away rather than accept a bad Brexit deal
  • wants leeway to negotiate trade deals in transition

"As long as we leave EU in March 2019 I am happy to a transitional period as long as it's time limited"

Earlier UK fin min Hammond was out saying there was a growing consensus among UK govt for transition period but this is still an on-going area of contention.

Is no deal really better than a "bad" deal on Brexit as PM May will still have us believe? And who will have the final say on how bad is bad anyway?

The jury remains firmly out.

I'm out now too so enjoy the rest of your week-end and I'll see you back here tomorrow for more fun and games in the wonderfully fickle world of forex.
