US import price index for December 0.1% vs 0.4% expectations

US import price index increased by 0.1% in the December. This was lower than the 0.4% expectations.

• import prices ex-petroleum for December fell -0.2% versus 0.1% estimate. The prior month was revised higher to 0.2% from +0.1%
• Export prices for the month fell by -0.1%. This was less than the 0.3% estimate
• YOY import prices rose by 3.0% versus 3.1% estimate. Prior month was revised higher to 3.3% from 3.1%
• YoY export price index for December rose by 2.6%. That was lower than the 3.1% in the prior month
