Trump will need to find the votes

The S&P 500 rose 10 points to 2554 in early trade, a fresh record high.

The risk is that Trump's latest feud with Republican Senator Bob Corker could threatening his agenda. The President's problem is that Corker announced he won't run for re-election and that "there is no way in hell" he's voting for a tax bill that adds one cent to US debt.

That lit a fuse that looks like it could be the start of an explosive confrontation with Trump, who said Corker "didn't have the guts" to run for re-election.

On twitter, Corker then had this to say:

Then he took it a step further and said Trump was treating the Presidency like "a reality show" and warned he could put the US on the path to "World War III" in an interview with the NYT.

"He concerns me," Mr. Corker added. "He would have to concern anyone who cares about our nation."

On twitter, Trump said Corker had "begged" for his endorsement. "I said 'NO' and he dropped out (said he could not win without my endorsement),"the president wrote. He also said that Corker had asked to be secretary of state. "I said 'NO THANKS,'" he wrote.

"I know for a fact that every single day at the White House, it's a situation of trying to contain him," Corker told the NYT.

The feud continued into today with Trump now calling him 'Liddle Bob Corker'.

The problem is that Trump needs Corker's vote. Republicans have a 52-50 majority in the Senate and others like Susan Collins, John McCain and Rand Paul are tough votes to secure. If he makes too many enemies in his own party, they will be extremely reluctant to give him a 'win'.
