USD/JPY touches a low of 108.36

A slight tumble in USD/JPY as the Nikkei also slips a little after the lunch break in Japan. The Nikkei is now up only +0.36% after retreating from gains posted earlier in the day of around +1.37%.

It's quite a turn in sentiment for Japanese equities, as other Asian markets are still holding onto gains for the day. The Hang Seng index is up by 2.18% while China's Shanghai Composite and CSI 300 indices are both up by 1.80% and 2.13% respectively at the break.

Looking at things, it could be a move that was caused by a drop in S&P 500 futures. Here's the sharp drop in the futures in the past hour, though it is bouncing back a little from the lows now:
