Atlanta Fed Pres. Speaking in Atlanta...
The Atlanta Fed President is reiterating his views on the US economy in a speech in Atlanta.
He says:
- Inflation likely to run a bit above 2% for a while
- Sees economy on track, close to Fed's twin goals
- US close to or at full employment, wage growth tepid
- Sees US 2018 growth around 2.5%, 1.75% over medium term
- Drawn to possible use of price level targeting as way to offset low neutral rate of interest
- Does not expect larget impacts on consumer spending, business investment, from tax reform
