Marginal gains for the major indices
In the premarket, the futures for the major indices were implying a lower opening. However, those declines have been erased, and the major indices are opening with modest gains:

- S&P index +5.88 points or 0.19% at 3012.67
- NASDAQ composite Index up 23.75 points or 0.29% at 8201.30
- Dow industrial average up 63 points or 0.23% 27212
Costco and US Steel were downgraded and are trading lower, but Microsoft announced after the close a 11% increase in dividend and a $40 billion buyback repurchase program.
- Costco is trading down -2.07%
- US Steel is trading down -12.93%
- Microsoft shares are trading up 2.04%
In the US debt market yields remain lower with declines of over three basis points out the curve.
In other markets:
- spot gold is trading up $7.30 or 0.49% at $1501.20
- WTI crude oil futures are up $0.66 or 1.12% at $58.75
