Independent Review - LBLV
LBLV is a Seychelles-based online broker that has been working with clients and providing financial services since 2017. There are a wide variety of assets offered by the broker, and clients can use the popular MetaTrader 5 platform for their trading. Spreads are about average, with excellent and reliable execution speeds and leverage up to 1:400 available on select assets.
The broker offers six different account types, which should appeal to traders of all experience levels. The base level account requires a $5,000 minimum deposit, which seems large for a beginner, although some could say it shows a level of commitment to deposit that amount or more when opening an account.
One of the definite strengths at LBLV is the education center, which is comprised of eBooks, tutorials, and many videos on demand. There is also a good amount of financial news and analysis as well as live signals and market commentary. It is a lot more than offered at many other brokers.
Immediately upon reaching the LBLV.com website you will see that this is a competitive trader that will work with you to make you the best trader you can be. It is right there in their slogan “Invest with the Best.” Scrolling down you’ll soon come across a simple form that could have you registered as a client in under a minute. Below that you’ll learn about all the assets available, the trading platform and be introduced to the excellent education and training available from LBLV.
Outside the homepage for the broker the navigation is clear, and most traders will easily find whatever information they’re looking for simply by accessing the menus in the header. They will take you to any section of the website you need.
We’ve seen a lot of broker websites, and this one is certainly professionally designed and laid out, which is only to be expected when the broker is nearly four-year-old. They have had plenty of time to test and refine the website and the message you get when first visiting.
LBLV Ltd is the company that owns and operates LBLV.com and they are regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of the Seychelles under license number SD016.
The regulation means that all clients’ funds are held in segregated bank accounts that keep client funds and broker operating funds separate. This protects the clients in the event there is a financial hardship at the broker, or in the event they would go bankrupt. In either case the broker is unable to access the client funds.
Clients at LBLV can take advantage of six tiers of accounts, with additional features added as you climb the ladder of tiers. All the accounts have access to the MetaTrader 5 trading platform, they all trade minimum trades of 0.01 lots, plus they all feature 24-hour support and personal account managers. Below you can learn more about each tier and the additional features.
Rookie – This is the base level account, and it requires a $5,000 minimum deposit. In addition to the features mentioned above the Rookie account comes with floating spreads and leverage of up to 1:400.
Basic – It’s interesting to note that even though the minimum deposit for the Basic account is hiked to $25,000 there appear to be no differences in the features offered when compared with the base Rookie account.
Premier – The Premier account level doubles the minimum deposit requirement from the prior tier to $50,000 and adds economic news and proprietary technical indicators.
Elite – At the Elite level, the minimum deposit increases to $100,000, which puts this account tier out of reach of most retail traders. At this level clients receive fixed spreads and additional technical analysis.
Elite Plus – Lower fixed spreads and an EU private bank account are the features that come with the Elite Plus account, along with a $250,000 minimum deposit.
VIP – The top tier requires a $1 million minimum deposit and adds a personal banker to the EU private bank account.
Clients at LBLV will have access to four primary asset classes:
Currencies – With over 100 currency pairs to choose from there will always be a trending market to trade.
Commodities – These include the soft commodities such as wheat and sugar, as well as precious metals and energy products. LBLV gives clients the choice of trading these in spot or futures markets.
Individual shares – Over 300 different stocks that include favorites such as Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Cisco.
Indices – Over 30 of the top global indices including Dow Jones, S&P 500, and the German DAX.
Spreads are competitive, with the fixed spreads going as low as 0.3 pips on popular pairs such as the EUR/USD. In the case of commodities, the average spread is 30.4 pips.
In addition to the wide variety of assets and the low spreads, LBLV also offers its clients leverage that can be as great as 1:400 on some assets. Precious metals have leverage as high as 1:100. Leverage can be a good way to capitalize on opportunities, but it can also greatly magnify losses, so traders should use leverage with caution.
The trading platform offered by LBLV is the popular MetaTrader 5 platform, and they are good enough to offer it in its desktop, mobile, and web-based versions. MetaTrader 5 is the newest version of the popular trading and chart analysis software developed by MetaQuotes software. The MetaTrader application is used worldwide by millions of traders because of its powerful features and ability to automate trading.
Indeed all of the add-ons available for MetaTrader 5 make its capabilities virtually unlimited, or at least only limited by imagination since the software comes with a proprietary scripting language that makes it possible for anyone to code their own indicators and robots.
It’s powerful enough for experienced and professional traders, yet simple and intuitive enough for brand new traders.
We found that once you are registered you can select a demo account from within the client area. That was great news because we think it is so important not only to be able to test the broker’s trading conditions, but also to be able to continually test your own strategies before putting money at risk.
LBLV makes the usual banking methods available:
- Bank transfer – Takes 2 to 5 business days for the deposit to clear. Unlimited deposit limit.
- Card (VISA & Mastercard) – Instant deposit credit. Deposit limit varies
- Electronic payments/e-wallet (Bitcoin, Ripple, Union Pay, Neteller, Stellar, Tether & Advcash) – takes 2 to 5 business days deposit time. Unlimited deposit limit.
LBLV has no fees for deposits although some of the payment providers may. The minimum deposit in any case is $5,000.
Withdrawals can be made via the same methods as deposits. In the case of bank transfers and cards it could take up to nine business days for funds to clear. In the case of electronic payment accounts withdrawals will clear within three business days. There is a $50 minimum on withdrawals and fees depend on the withdrawal method used.
LBLV offers customer support 24/5 via live chat, email, and telephone. There is no online web form. There is an online FAQ that can be used to answer basic questions. When we tried contacting the support team via online chat, they were quick to respond, and just as quick to answer my basic questions. We found them to be very professional.
We were happy to see MetaTrader 5 as the trading platform, and happy with the demo account being offered. The list of assets is not the longest, but all the top assets are represented so we think there won’t be a time when there isn’t an opportunity. The educational portal is excellent, and we can recommend the broker based on that feature alone.
One further downside is that LBLV does not accept U.S. traders, but that hardly affects most of the trading world. Overall a good broker, with good features and services.
