Former BOE and MPC member Kate Barker thinks markets have got it wrong
- Hike bets may be pushed out too far
- Says that when Carney last spoke he was still thinking a 6 month horizon
- Says he's very critical and there's no way he'll be in the minority for a hike after all this time
- His vote this time is going to be the most important one
- Doesn't think the BOE has to wait for the Fed but if the Fed doesn't move it makes it a little difficult for the BOE to move
- Policy makers should look through commodity prices
Kate Barker was on the MPC until leaving in 2010 after three terms
The pound hasn't suffered as much as the euro following Yellen's comments and that could be in big part to the fact that once the Fed goes, the BOE may not be too far behind
Kate Barker says the market is way out on BOE hikes
