Fed vice chair Richard Clarida speaks to Bloomberg TV
- US economy is in good shape
- Fed still focused on achieving its dual mandate
- Policy is meant to sustain economy's current good performance
- Fed's 'dot plots' aren't going anywhere
- Inflation is at Fed's 2% target
- Fed could operate somewhat with inflation above 2%
That's about it from Clarida. Some upbeat statements on the economy but giving nothing away about what it means for next year's rate hike cycle. I believe we'll hear more from Fed members on the matter upon the conclusion of this month's FOMC meeting. Until then, expect the usual from Fed speakers.
