The Fed’s George granted an interview to Dow Jones shortly after her speech today:
- Anxious to work toward process of policy normalization
- Formulas that guide interest rate changes point to liftoff from zero as early as this year
- Concerned about effects of higher food prices on low income households
No surprise that George would be advocating for rate hikes, in fact it’s a bit surprising that she isn’t more vocal about it.
