Comments by Dallas Fed president Robert Kaplan as he speaks to Bloomberg TV
- Expecting some moderation of growth
We're also hearing from Cleveland Fed president Loretta Mester as she speaks to CNBC:
- Markets are orderly and functioning
- There is no need to panic
- There are risks out there that are being reassessed
- This is a natural thing going on in financial markets
- Says that recent market volatility hasn't changed her outlook
- Says her long-run Fed funds rate is 3%
- Long-run growth rate for US economy is about 2%
Do be reminded that Mester is a hawk on the board and she is also a voting member this year. Doesn't seem like the recent correction in equities is enough to warrant panic at the Fed just yet.
