Monday is going kick off in the US with some speakers from the Federal Reserve.
- Vice Chair Stanley Fischer is being interviewed on Bloomberg TV at 1115GMT
- President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Dennis Lockhart is speaking at 1300GMT, delivering the opening remarks at a conference
- Lockhart speaks a few hours later again, at 1625GMT, at an Atlanta Press Club lunch. After the speech he'll take audience questions, and media questions.
You might recall last week Lockhart's comments in a Wall Street Journal interview triggered a bout of USD strength, when he hinted at a September rate hike:
- "I think there is a high bar right now to not acting, speaking for myself"
- "It will take a significant deterioration in the economic picture for me to be disinclined to move ahead"
Watch out for what he says in the wake of the labour force data on Friday
