Wages lower, more people looking for work
Today the New York Fed released a new quarterly survey on the labor market and it showed an increase in the proportion of individuals who searched for a job, and a decline in the average full-time offer wage.
That was part of a series of disappointing findings in the July 2017 SCE Labor Market Survey, which was released for the first time after collecting data over a longer period.
"Job transition expectations of those currently employed were unchanged," the report said. "However, expectations regarding receiving job offers and the amount of average expected offer (conditional on receiving one) both declined. The average reservation wage-the lowest wage respondents would be willing to accept for a new job-declined to its lowest level since March 2015."
