Lacker to give speech Sept 4
Super-hawk Jeffrey Lacker removed any mystery about his bias when the Richmond Fed announced an upcoming speech on September 4.
"The Case Against Further Delay," is the speech title. Baring an epic bait-and-switch, he's talking about not delaying a rate hike.
Lacker is a voter this year and despite his always-hawkish approach, he hasn't dissented. The Minutes of the latest meeting said one member argued for a hike (almost certainly Lacker) so it won't be a surprise if he dissents if/when the Fed doesn't hike on Sept 17.
