SNB board member Maechler said that rising reserves are a direct effect of monetary policy. Maechler also said they have started to invest in Chinese H shares, which are shares listed in Hong Kong.

The SNB owned $63.4 billion of US stocks last year and has 20% of its holdings in equities. Of those, 60% are allocated to the US. So by that math, they own more than $100 billion in global equities.

As far as I can tell, an allocation into Chinese equities wasn't previously disclosed.
