OK …
If you head on over to the RBNZ website you’ll see this:
Note the bit about: “Not all speeches will be notified publicly ahead of delivery. Speaking events are usually hosted by other organisations, and are often invitation-only or closed to the public.”
Hmmm.
OK, then.
Well, here’s a heads-up … there are three speeches this week from the RBNZ.
None of them are public.
RBNZ Governor Graeme Wheeler is speaking in the mornings of Tuesday and Wednesday
Assistant Governor, John McDermott is speaking on Wednesday morning

Don’t know why its all so hush-hush.
But there you go. If the kiwi $ starts to move around the time of any of these speeches you can expect all sorts of rumours etc. about someone saying something privately. And it could well be a good time for someone to have a play with the market. You know, sell a bucketload, start a rumour then buy it all back.
Not that I’m suggesting anything like that would ever, ever, ever happen in the markets. Nope, not me. Its irresponsible and scurrilous just to even bring it up. Forget I ever said it.
