This will be the first meeting between these two since Biden renominated Powell to head the Fed. Powell has since been confirmed for his second term by the Senate.
The White House statement:
- said the pair would discuss the state of the U.S. and global economy
- and inflation
Of course inflation! Its a key priority for Biden to get inflation down. Biden is particularly concerned about fuel prices, but there is not a real lot the Federal Reserve can do about that (pump more, Joe!)
