Yes, the Bank of Japan have posted up a Q&A page on bitcoin etc. on its 'The Central Council for Financial Services Information' website
Bloomberg have a quickie summary .... basically the Bank is warning on the risks:
- gives a basic overview of cryptocurrencies
- how they're different from traditional currencies
- notes there's no central bank to back them up
- details how you won't necessarily profit from investing in them
