Package shipping companies usually have solid insight into the state of the economy. The CEO of UPS says the marco economic environment ‘looks decent’ but he’s certainly not inspired.
The company blamed the weather after earning 98-cents in the quarter compared to $1.08 expected. It also blamed bad weather around Christmas for soft Q4 results. The shipping giant said it should be back on track for the remainder of the year.
