ECB’s Mersch says regulators need a “more holistic approach” to ABS

That’s Asset Backed Securities of which there’s much talk right now as the ECB look to ease

ECB executive member Yves Mersch says :

• ECB plans could catalyse ABS issuance
• Eurosystem could buy “simple and transparent” ABS
• ratings agencies should rate ABS without sovereign cap
