BOJ's Kuroda: 2% inflation target likely to be met in FY2021 or later

Further comments by BOJ governor Haruhiko Kuroda

At the start of the year, BOJ officials sounded upbeat and there were plenty of talks that they are looking for the inflation target to be met by fiscal year 2019. And here we are now, talking about fiscal year 2021 or later.

As mentioned in April, Kuroda still needs to put up a facade that this goal can be reached during his tenure but it's still looking more of a pipe dream than an eventuality.
