Bundesbank releases their latest projections for the German economy

  • 2018 GDP growth seen at 1.5% (previous 2.0%)
  • 2019 GDP growth seen at 1.6% (previous 1.9%)
  • 2020 GDP growth seen at 1.6% (unchanged)
  • 2021 GDP growth seen at 1.5%
  • 2018 inflation seen at 1.9% (previous 1.8%)
  • 2019 inflation seen at 1.4% (previous 1.7%)
  • 2020 inflation seen at 1.8% (unchanged)
  • 2021 inflation seen at 1.8%

It is almost without a doubt that the Eurozone economy has reached its peak at the end of last year and early this year, and growth will remain sluggish next year as well. The real worry is that the slowdown will drag on and also impact growth negatively in 2019 as well. Those inflation forecasts also don't really breed a whole lot of confidence, to be honest.
