ECB's Praet, Weidmann don't rule out tiering rates

I posted earlier on weekend comments regard possible rate tier policy from the European Central Bank:

ECB Chief Economist Peter Praet and Bundesbank president Jens Weidmann spoke also over the weekend, with tentative support.

Praet;
  • Tiering can "mitigate some of the negative consequences of some policy you have in place" 
  • But it isn't a policy "instrument" in itself.
Lukewarm support from both, but neither ruled it out,
