The Reserve Bank of Australia November monetary policy announcement is due at 0330 GMT

No change in the cash rate is the unanimous expectation

  • Eyes will be on Governor' Lowe's accompanying statement
  • I am sometimes asked if there is a press conference, no there isn't. There never is.

Later this week (Friday Asia time) the bank will publish its Statement on Monetary Policy, which will have updated forecasts. It is more of a focus than today's decision.

Adding another in now, this via ANZ, their their in a nutshell view:

  • RBA post meeting statement (6 Nov): We expect the RBA to be upbeat, not least because of the fall in the unemployment rate to 5%.
  • RBA Statement of Monetary Policy (9 Nov): There will be a downward shift in the forecasts for the unemployment rate, at least.
