Bloomberg with some comments from a former Vice Minister of Finance of Japan on the BOJ and the yen

Tatsuo Yamasaki in an interview:

  • No major changes in monetary policy likely today
  • There shouldn't be too much impact on the yen
  • Yen is in line with economic fundamentals, not much upward or downward pressure on it now
  • "It's possible they'll revise their price outlook downward,"
  • "However, it's extremely hard for me to imagine they'll change monetary policy."
