Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda is to be appointed for a second term as Bank of Japan governor
Reuters cite a person briefed on the matter
- Kuroda's current term expires in April
Also, Mainichi newspaper said Executive Director Masayoshi Amamiya will be appointed as one of the bank's two deputy governors (Jiji news also with that report, citing citing unidentified sources)
ps. it's a Japan market holiday today
Easy monetary policy will likely continue under Kuroda, which should be a negative for the yen. It won't be in changed policy going forward, though, IMIO - expect some changes to YCC ... nothing huge but there will be tweaks (how about getting rid of the 80 tln yen JGB buy target to start?)
