RBA Gov Lowe says intervention to lower the AUD would not be successful

Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Lowe answering question in parliament on the Australian dollar level

He is having to set the elected representatives straight:
  • would need huge amounts of intervention to push the AUD down
  • doubt we can do that
  • intervention would not be a successful strategy

There is a time and place for intervention to drive a currency, now is not either.
