RBA in buying long-dated Australian government bonds, double the usual amount

Reserve Bank of Australia buying AUD 4bn, which is twice the usual size of their purchases. 

  • November 2024 to May 2028 bonds
The RBA is signalling its determination to drive yields towards their target level. 10 year ACGS drop 30+ bps on the session now. 

AUD has rallied so far but little response to this.
