RBNZ's Wheeler: Expects inflation back in target band by Q4

Author: Eamonn Sheridan | Category: Central Banks

Graeme Wheeler is governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (appearing before a parliamentary committee, answering questions on the Bank's annual report)

  • Expects inflation back in target band by Q4
  • Economy performing relatively well
(Just on that second comment, Wheeler is speaking with parliamentarians, hence the 'no shit, Sherlock' comment ... they aren't terribly bright and sometimes need to have the obvious pointed out to them)

  • More;
  • Per-capita GDP growth is disappointing
  • Rate of productivity growth also disappointing
And thus concludes Wheeler's testimony. Sheesh Mr. W ... talk about leaving on a downer.
