Janet Yellen is delivering her first speech as Fed chair today but the market is already in a good mood.
S&P 500 futures are pointing to an 11 point gain after climbing 8.5 points on Friday to 1858. It’s the final trading day of the first quarter and one level to watch on the day is 1848, which was the open on the first trading day of the year.
It’s been a ho-hum quarter but S&P 500 will probably eek out a small gain. That’s not likely the case for the Dow and Nasdaq — both will need big days to climb above the Dec 31 levels.
