Fedspeak picks up next week

The first FOMC member we're waiting to hear from is Neel Kashkari. It's a custom at the Fed to explain dissent. Usually that takes place in the day after a decision but we haven't seen anything from him yet. Keep an eye on the Minneapolis Fed website for some kind of statement and he could also make the rounds in the media, or even take to his twitter account.

Otherwise, the Fed calendar is empty for the remainder of the week.

On Monday it picks up again as Evans is scheduled to be the first on the docket with a speech on the economy in policy in New York at 1710 GMT. He's a dove so the risk is that he leans against further hikes and preaches caution. That's expected but it could also weigh on the dollar further.

Tuesday is busy with Dudley, George and Mester on the agenda. Dudley is speaking on bank ethics so that might be a dud but Mester and George have proper speeches lined up with Q&A. They could reverse whatever damage Evans does. They've both been cautiously hawkish but maybe they will step it up.

If we don't hear from Kashkari this week, he is slated to speak Wednesday on education outcomes in DC. Yellen is also at a community development conference that day. I would be surprised if her message changed from the press conference.

Later on Thursday, at 2300 GMT, the Fed's Kaplan speaks on the economy. He's a soft hawk and could push his agenda then.
