Fed's Brainard says digital currency is not the solution to the lower bound

• 'Cost-benefit' of negative rates unattractive in the US
• Fed is monitoring new technologies closely

Switching to digital currencies just so you could force negative deposit rates on the public would be one of the least-popular policies in history. I can't imagine any government doing it.
