KPMG call in CCI Legal to assist with Alpari negative balance collection

According to a notice put up on the KPMG Alpari page they've signed up a debt collection firm to chase negative balances

We are now in a position to contact the first tranche of clients with negative balances. This tranche should cover all clients with negative balances for whom the Joint Special Administrators have verified the available contact information but excludes clients that had open CHF trades after 09.00 GMT on Thursday 15 January 2015. The validation work in respect of the remaining clients is ongoing and we will provide a further update as soon as we are able.

So at the moment they are just chasing anyone who had a normal negative balance, not one brought about by the SNB cap removal.

Those, such as myself, are still being kept in the dark about anything to do with negative balances arising from the SNB event. So far I've had the princely sum of 4 emails since KPMG took over and not one of them even mentions how negative balances will be dealt with. So far they are claiming "force majeure" on the event. Which we all know to be complete Bow Locks

For anyone else affected by Alpari's insolvency you can get all the updated info here

We've also learned that ETX is starting to take the legal route with solicitor letters going out to some clients with a deadline for settlement of negative balances
