These would be some big changes
To seek constitutional right to higher education
To seek to double minimum wage in border areas
To remove barriers to binding referendums
To end presidential immunity on corruption
To create public security ministry
To remove immunity for elected officials
Given the levels of corruption in Mexico, ending immunity seems like a great idea. Some of these things will have people worried but higher wages could help to secure a NAFTA deal. Whether Mexico can ever reach its potential will depend on getting the cartels under control and I imagine that's what the public security ministry will be trying to do, but it's easier said than done.
