These would be some big changes

  • To seek constitutional right to higher education

  • To seek to double minimum wage in border areas

  • To remove barriers to binding referendums

  • To end presidential immunity on corruption

  • To create public security ministry

  • To remove immunity for elected officials

Given the levels of corruption in Mexico, ending immunity seems like a great idea. Some of these things will have people worried but higher wages could help to secure a NAFTA deal. Whether Mexico can ever reach its potential will depend on getting the cartels under control and I imagine that's what the public security ministry will be trying to do, but it's easier said than done.
