“We find that, this month, consumers are optimistic on all aspects of the economy. If the trend persists into the future, it is likely to have a positive impact on consumer spending. The economy and jobs continue to be the top issues on Americans’ minds,” said Raghavan Mayur, president of TIPP “Despite the improvement in consumer confidence, forty-six percent think that the U.S. is still in a recession. Also, 51% feel the economy is not improving, while just 47% believe it is.”
