Asia had a very quiet session across all markets. Regional equity markets rose typically by around 0.5% and gold remained steady at $955/oz.

USD/JPY ground it’s way higher, pip by pip, and is closing on its highs around 97.95 after opening at 97.30. EUR/USD, 1.2712/61, Cable 1.4199/1.4294 and Swissy 1.1680/1.1711, were quiet and at the mercy of cross/JPY flows. The AUD/USD posted it’s .6466 low as it tried to break lower earlyin the session to trigger model fund stops below .6450 but waves of AUD/JPY buying, although not overly large in nature, caused some short covering and the AUD/USD popped up to .6511.
