AUD, NZD dribbling lower

The Australian and New Zealand dollars are underperforming in a relatively quiet FX market in Asia today.

Consumer confidence has held in there:

• Australia - Westpac Consumer Confidence Index for September +2.0% m/m (prior -4.4%)

And the race for vaccinations is powering ahead

• Australian consumer sentiment firming despite virus outbreak - restrictions to ease soon will drive it higher

Nevertheless, the two are soft compared to others. AUD and NZD / yen notably lower, extending the overnight losses further.
