A heads up to the know unknowns in the week ahead on the calendar

The most important from Australia:

Tuesday 12th (0030GMT)

  • Housing finance, expected to fall further
  • NAB Business survey (confidence and conditions, conditions plunged in December) for January

The following day Westpac consumer confidence (monthly survey) for February, which was also lower last time around.

China is back from the week long break on Monday

  • Thursday 14th February, no set time but likely 0300GMT if recent past is a guide, the jau trade balance.
  • exports and imports are both expected to show falls
  • Friday 15, January inflation (CPI and PPI … PPI is a guide to how profits are doing in Chinese industry)
  • Sometime during the week will be credit data (new yuan loans etc.)

I'll get previews up of all that lot in the new week.
